July 7th- vs Charlbury (away)- Won by 2 wickets.

After discussions in the week the captains had agreed a 12 noon start time and a 37 over match to allow both teams to watch the England world cup game during an extended interval,Thanks to Charlbury and the umpires for this it was much appreciated. On to the game Westcott won the Toss and put Charlbury in to bat on a very hard flat pitch, Giles picked up one of the openers early on whilst Jamie was testing Finbars Stand-in keeping skills to the max! With the other opener carrying his bat throughout the innings Westcott picked up wickets steadily from the other end, 3 for Tom, 2 for Saghir and 1 apiece from Lewis and JB restricting Charlbury to 137-8. Westcott then went out for 8 overs before the football with Nick Solway falling early and Mikey and Lewis holding out to Tea at 14-1.

After watching a good England performance ( whilst scoffing the lovely Charlbury tea) Westcott went out again in pursuit of Charlbury’s total. Steady Batting from Mikey Herriot helped Westcott on their way with plenty of batsmen getting in then getting out again at the other end! Quick contributions from Saghir, JB and Giles saw Westcott get near the total with Mikey and Jamie Wiles getting Westcott over the line, Mikey finishing 60 not out.

Great result against a very game Charlbury side with another good test in prospect next week at home against Oxenford.
