18th August- vs Deddington (away)- Won by 166 runs.

After an eternity Westcott 2nd’s finally got there whites back on for a trip to Deddington. After losing the toss Westcott were asked to bat on a slow dry pitch, Finbar & Mikey set out in good form against Deddington’s slow bowlers & after a belligerent 50 from Finbar Mikey kept the ship steady through the middle overs before finally succumbing to Phil Bateman’s legendary running between the wickets, falling three short of his fifty. Good hitting in the middle order from Saghir (34no) and Dale (33) saw Westcott reach a respectable 212-7.Westcott started on Fire defending their total taking several early wickets. Deddington were never really in the hunt for victory as they were quickly skittled¬† out for 46.¬† Tom & J.B taking 2 wickets apiece & Dave Hawes ( above) returning ridiculous figures of 12 overs, 7 maidens 5 wickets for 11 runs ( worth noting that seven of the runs were wides & the remaining four were scored off one ball).
